I have always called these mountains home! I am proud of my roots and love this community that shaped me into who I am today.

How did an elementary teacher get into photography?

Well, it’s funny you asked. 9 years ago, we welcomed our daughter into this world. I just couldn’t get enough of her. I wanted to soak up every moment with our girl. And, just as all the grandparents had told us, time didn’t stop. Her smiles changed, her expressions multiplied, and everything about her continued to evolve into this new person. I was afraid of missing a moment. My husband had a Canon that was gifted to him from his Dad. He jokingly implied that I should try my hand at “taking pictures” of her.

Boom…. I took every course…starting with a local photographer while I tried to make sense of the mechanical sides of the camera. Then came the late nights of learning lighting, editing, storytelling. I fell in love with the idea of offering what I wanted for myself for other parents: a chance to freeze those moments that may otherwise be forgotten or overlooked due to the busyness of life.

Our family grew. We welcomed another daughter and son. I am still here: teaching, parenting and doing all the daily grind, along with loving every moment behind the camera! We have been blessed with family, a marriage that started with a simple phone call way back in highschool, and this beautiful place we call home. I am beyond grateful for His provision and love that has made this all possible.
